Manage Classes
Review your class and make sure you have the class set up to fit your needs. You have a few settings to choose from.
- Grade Level
When you set grade level, your students will get the texts and lessons for that grade level. We recommend using their exact grade level because Quindew is adaptive and will adjust up or down. - Choosing the Right Program
We empower the classroom teacher to choose the program that best fits their students' needs. Quindew offers three programs: Quindew, QuindewEL, and QuindewUP. Use Quindew for traditional, mainstream classes. Set your class to QuindewEL if you have a class of all English learners. Select QuindewUP if you are teaching a reading class or reading intervention class. Only choose QuindewUP if you know all of your students are below grade level readers. If you don't know, choose Quindew and the adaptive system will figure out each student's base reading level. - Delivery
Set your classes to autopilot--Quests are delivered each week automatically--or you can choose manual--you decide when Quests are released to your students.
Classroom Tip
If you are a secondary teacher or a combo teacher in elementary school, set the class to the lowest grade level if you are teaching two grades in the same class. If you are teaching three grade levels, pick the middle level. What does this look like? If you are a middle school teacher who has a mix of students grades 6-8, set your class to 7th grade. Quindew is adaptive and will identify a base grade level after completing 12 Quests or Season 1.

Classroom Tip for Coaches and Leaders
If you are responsible for students that are not in your actual class, you can create a school wide class that those students can join. This allows you to connect with those students you don't get to see everyday. It also allows you to monitor how they are doing. Here is an example of how powerful this can be.
An EL Coordinator is responsible for EL students in the sheltered classes and the mainstream classes. An EL Site Coordinator could create a class and invite the mainstream English language learners to join the class. This would give the EL students the reading practice and support they need while delivering valuable reading performance data directly to the EL Coordinator. This type of strategic class creation works well for response to intervention (RTI) models, too.
Make sure that the students only have one Quindew account at the school. If you have teachers using Quindew with their students, you will not need to create a school wide class. This is for teacher leaders on campus that want to support students that need the extra support and are not currently Quindewing.
