Quindew
What is Quindew?Quindew is a fun and FREE online reading program. It offers adaptive reading lessons and assessments that meet students where they are in their reading journey. Our intentional lesson design builds both confidence and deep comprehension reading skills. Quindew infuses sound classroom pedagogy with gamification best practices. The result: students grow as readers each year and have fun doing it! The name Quindew comes from the names of two prominent education philosophers: Quintillian and John Dewey. |
Classes
How many classes can I create?Teachers can create as many classes as they need, for FREE. |
How do I archive or delete a class?Edit your class and select "Archive" under Status. Video Tutorial |
Do classes archive automatically?Yes. Your class will automatically become inactive based on the the end date set for the class. To edit end dates, click "Edit" class. Video Tutorial |
How do I edit my class and change settings?Go to your Classes dashboard. View a class. Click “Edit Class.” Video Tutorial |
What is the difference between manual release and autopilot?Manual release gives the teacher complete control of when Quests are assigned. Dates cannot be assigned, but the teacher can “Launch” a Quest by clicking “Launch” on the Classes dashboard. The “Launch” button appears after the orientation and Quest 1 are complete. Manual is optimal for planned station work, learning centers, and whole class Quindew time. Autopilot releases Quests automatically at the beginning of each week. This option is optimal for homework, playlists, and other flexible planning models.

Where does the Quest release button appear when a class is set to "Manual Release"?Go to your Classes dashboard. The “Release” button will be next to your class(es) set to “Manual.” |
Students
How do I add and delete students?View the class. Click “Add Students” and share the Class Code. To delete a student, view a student and click “Drop Student.” |
How do I transfer a student from one class to another?Share the Class Code for a class you want a student to move to. Then, have the student log in to Quindew, and under the student’s name, select “Add Class.” Add the Class Code and press “Save.” |
How do I reset a student’s passcode?Resetting a student’s Passcode is easy. View a student. Click “Reset Passcode.” A green alert message will appear at the top of the page with a new Passcode. Share that new code with your student. |
Where can I find and change student information like username/ID?View a student. Click “Edit Student.” You will be able to change a few things like name and ID number. |

Do students need to use notifications?No. Have them select “None.” They will not be able to choose the dash ( - ) as their response. They must choose one of the options. |
Can students invite their parents to view their progress?Yes. Under their names, there is an option to “Invite Parents.” All they need is a parent email address. |
Can I try a Quest or see what students see?Yes. On the Classes page, you will see a black button that says “Try as Student.” This allows teachers to play with Quests. Video Tutorial |
